What ingredients are in your Whey Isolate Protein?

That's right, we don't put any "extras or fillers" in our protein.  Our 100% Instantized Whey protein is rBST free, extracted from sweet dairy whey, undenatured, has a low lactose profile and is packed with 1,000 IUs of Vitamin D. That's it....and a little bit of great Vanilla flavor.

What is rBST?

rBST stands for Recombinant bovine somatotropin.  BST, not rBST, is a protein hormone that is naturally produced by the pituitary gland of cows. The "r" in rBST represents recombinant technology which is a synthetic (man-made) hormone that dairy farmers use to increase milk production in cows.  The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of rBST in 1993, however other countries such as the European Union, Canada, and some other countries banned the use of rBST.  Which is why we get our protein from Ireland (In my Irish accent.)

Concerns have been raised over the efficacy of rBST and its effects on humans who may consume this synthetic hormone.  Other concerns revolve around the fact that cows who are treated with RBST develop more udder infections (mastitis).  Because of this issue, these cows are given more antibiotics than cows who are not treated with this hormone.  Again, raising the concern as to how this might affect humans.  The manufacturer of rBST, Monsanto has come out against any concerns over their product.

At Gen-X Muscle, we like to play it on the safe side.....we don't use products with rBST.  It's as simple as that.

What is Instantized and Sunflower Lecithin?

Let's talk about Sunflower Lecithin first. Sunflower lecithin is the only lecithin that can be obtained raw and chemical free, unlike Soy lecithin.  Sunflower lecithin offers a rich source of phosphatidylcholine and essential fatty acids.  Soy Lecithin is bleached with hydrogen peroxide and contains high amounts of estrogens, which may increase the risk for hormonal problems in women such as infertility, menstrual irregularities and menopausal symptons.  Sunflower Lecithin is also higher in choline which research has shown plays a role in several physiological processes which occur in the body

Again, at Gen-X Muscle we like to play it on the safe side....we don't use products with soy lecithin.

We hate it when our protein clumps in the metal mixing ball in our shaker cups.  We want our protein to dissolve fairly quickly and easily.  This is why protein has to be instantized so that liquids can easily penetrate the powder so that it can dissolve.  There are a number of ways to instantized a powder.  Some processes use chemicals or synthetic materials, while others use Lecithin as a natural emulsifier to instantize protein powder.

Since you know by now that Gen-X Muscle plays it on the safe side...we don't use chemicals (or soy) to instantize our protein. We use only Sunflower Lecithin.

Bottoms up!!!
